BUILDING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN HOLLYWOOD AND CZECH FILM BUSINESS

The Film Office, located in North Hollywood, California, is an official US agent for a number of Czech film companies, including the Barrandov Film Studios in Prague; Barrandov Productions s.r.o. and Czech-Anglo Productions, Prague. The Film Office can facilitate both productions and co-productions for films in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Film Office focuses on serving independent film productions, TV movies and miniseries productions, commercials and music videos

Barrandov Film Studios was established in 1931. This world-class facility is among the largest and busiest studios in Europe. It operates the largest soundproof sound stage in all of Europe. It consists of three interconnected sound stages totaling 42,000 sq. feet. Its costume department has 600,000 costume and props of all periods and styles. Every year a large number of US, British, German, and French films are shot using the Barrandov facilities. Barrandov Studios and Barrandov Productions could be your main go-to place for filming in Europe from planning and pre-productions all the way to AVID editing suits, film music recording, and several CGI production groups. The sound studios are equipped with Dolby Digital and Dolby Surround formats. Barrandov film laboratories can provide 16mm and 35 mm negative processing, rushes and telecine transfer.

Our Czech partners can provide productions that we recommend with free script breakdown, budgets, and even location scouting trips. Every year dozens of American, British, German, and French films are shot using the sound stages of Barrandov or one of the smaller studios in Prague. In the same vicinity there are well over 400 castles, beautiful palaces, churches, medieval villages, mountains, and forests of the Czech Republic. Many of these theatrical films as well as TV and commercials are filmed in Prague, whose streets, opera houses, hotels, and theaters stand for Paris of Marie Antoinette as well as the 1920’s, London of Dickens as well as James Bond, WWII Berlin or Vienna at the time of Mozart and Beethoven.
